We are currently seeking a communication designer to strengthen our team immediately, averaging 16 hours per week. In our space at Strijp-S, as well as in our projects and initiatives, socially engaged designers and societal experts come together. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in communication strategy and managing communication channels. Furthermore, you will work on the visual communication and identity of our initiatives, events, programs, and exhibitions. Within our larger research projects and programs, we also publish materials to make knowledge, work, and impact visible, where you will take a leading role in shaping and developing these publications.
who are you?
Are you a visual storyteller with a passion for social impact? We are looking for an all-round communication designer who is not only skilled at creating engaging visuals but also deeply involved in the urgent challenges facing society today. You enjoy creating illustrations, online content, visual materials, or branding and can quickly adapt to different styles, whether sleek and minimalist or bold and vibrant. You choose the appropriate style for the target audience. You enjoy writing in Dutch and English, and using various social media channels is not a challenge but a pleasure for you. As a team member, you know which stories should be shared online and actively seek them out.
Show us your versatility within your portfolio and your ability to adapt your aesthetics to diverse audiences and objectives. Talent and motivation are more important to us than the years of work experience listed on your CV.
In addition to your creative skills, proficiency in digital and technical tools is important. Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) is essential. Knowledge of animation, video, and photography is a plus, as we work extensively with moving images.
What will you do?
As a team member at Foundation We Are, you will actively collaborate with the research director and creative director and share responsibility for the following tasks:
- Designing visual identities for projects, initiatives, programs, and exhibitions
- Developing communication materials for web, social media, and print
- Contributing to We Are's communication strategy to connect more people with our work
- Managing We Are's communication channels
- Graphic design and DTP for publications
